In these #ScienceToTech posts, I'm planning to document my journey from a Science-centered career (with 0 programming experience) to a Dev career
I was a Biologist by education (I even have a Master's degree!) and profession (more than 5 years) before deciding to switch career. That decision was one of the hardest one to make and it took me almost a year to fully decide on leaving the previous path I worked hard on. My decision-making was quite a LONG process but the 3 questions I listed here helped me decide.
Fast forward to today, I've never regretted my decision. I'm still VERY far from being a successful Developer but I'm quite happy with my progress. I decided to document my journey through these #ScienceToTech posts in hopes of helping someone who's in a similar situation [and also as a way for me to see my actual progress tbh].
In these posts, I plan to share the following in no particular order (posting it here so that I'll be forced to really write it)
- How I started (Online courses, trainings)
- My Kata solutions
- Similarities I found with a Science and Tech career
- Struggles I encountered
- Some CSS/Javascript/etc tutorials/guides from the perspective of a Biologist
I'm not even sure if anyone else will ever read these posts but I know that I needed some of these when I was just deciding.
