Verbal & Non-Verbal

Image description
Communication has to be clear, compelling and ideally with a touch of personality. A simple “How are you doing” question can be a starting point of a deep conversation - or a passing cloud moment. Nonverbal communication, such as facial expressions, appearance, eye contact, gestures, and posture, is essential to building a relationship. Clear and effective communication has become a key driver in Today’s world. When we attempt to communicate with another person, we use both verbal and nonverbal communication. Nonverbal messages are “messages without words” or “silent messages.” In their best-selling book, “The Definitive Book of Body Language,” researchers Allan and Barbara Pease found that 83 per cent of communication is nonverbal. Another research indicates that nonverbal messages convey much more impact when two people communicate than verbal messages. Emotions are the most significant communication challenge. It’s hard to communicate words with emotion, easier with voice, but the best is while seeing each other. And the biggest winner in non-verbal communication is smiling. Smiles are an enormous controller of how people perceive you. People tend to trust a smiling face. Please get in the habit of offering a sincere smile - even when you need to stretch.
