I don't think sharing the WiFi password is a good idea. If you still want to, consider maintaining a separate local network for guests. Or only grant guest access (like you mentioned).

I was trying to write a CLI for my router and that's when I realized how simple it was for any malicious site to do nasty stuff with my router. I can't speak of every router, but the risk is worth mentioning IMO.

Troy hunt has an interesting blogpost on this. Worth a read if you have the time!
