I started my own blog a few months ago after being a professional developer for more than 13 years so I'd say better late than never works for me :)
I think cross posting articles here is a good idea, as a personal blog can hardly receive the same audience, and if you write something to share some knowledge you want as many people as possible to be able to get it.
The stuff I write is mostly for my future self, as usually when I'm stuck with a problem while coding I go back to my older projects where I remember I did a similar thing, and build from that. Hopefully an article will help me ever more in the future, and does help in the present as I take more time to think about the stuff I'm writing about. And if someone reads my article and can get a better understanding of a particular subject it is great, I've received so much help from the community I'd like to give something back.

I'm so glad to hear from you! The fact that there are others out there who echo the same thoughts is indeed so encouraging.

To be honest, I haven't even begun to figure out how to get a steady audience, but that's okay - I can hopefully learn how to do that on the way. First, I am trying to put a constant effort writing for myself as well (as if some sort of a reinforcement of thoughts I gather, and probably even for my future self too) and getting into the habit of doing that regularly!

Well, It seems like we are in the same boat.
I have been a developer (professionally speaking) for 10 years and I have never had a blog.
I've found the post and your comments inspiring.

Thank you two very much.
