How do you manage your usernames and passwords?

Hi, The last week I lost 3, yes TRHEE! credentials:

1-Grandstream IP-PBX.
2-Hikvision NVR.
3-and pizza hut online delivery.

The 1 and 2 item; I lost $160 in spending.

and you... How many users and password did you lose on mid of 2019?
How manage your credentials?

I use KeePass with AHK. Using the built in global hotkey, I can map it and have AHK pick it up and allow me to only have to push F1 to lookup the creds in KeePass and send the keystrokes for me. Local storage is important as I don't trust online.

You can add a credential any time, any where. It all syncs with Dropbox.

I use pass for password management. It has companion phone apps where necessary, and doesn't rely on a third party for storage and encryption. If you're not familiar with gpg, setup can be a bit of a pain, but I prefer it to other options. It also follows the Unix philosophy of small tools that have limited scope and can be composed together.

I came here to say this. Using GPG you can have 4096-bit encryption, and pass gives you a git repo of your passwords, which is really easy to work with in practice.

I've moved this setup across maybe 8 machines and it keeps working very well.

If you need help coming up with good passwords, I made a thing for that too

I will try to use your recommendations in parallel, to conclude which application makes me feel more comfortable and organized

I use KeePass for my personal database and have separate databases for my Dev team and a shared database with our IT team. I keep my personal database in my OneDrive account. I use KeePassX on my Mac and have the original KeePass on my Windows VM and native Windows machine. Not to mention the mobile apps. Storing the DB in the cloud makes access easy as needed. I was surprised how many times I've needed to access from my phone, but glad that I could.

I definitely need a culture to update my passwords; and also passwords that I configure in the systems of my clients; @fischgeek , also uses KeePass. Honestly I do not know KeePass. Is it available for android?

Sure! The version I have on my Android is KeePass2Android. "Unofficial/contributed" version. Definitely worth trying it out. keepass.info/download.html

LastPass, for both on mobile and the desktop browser so I have them wherever I go.

LastPass at home (I had bought 10 years worth before their price hike a year or two ago).

LastPass Enterprise at work, linked to home account, so the personal browsing/shopping/etc that I may do on my work laptop, can access personal account too.

Dropped LastPass after they were hacked and my creds were part of a data dump online.

I use LastPass. I love it! I like that it syncs across devices so I can easily access my info on my computer, phone and tablets, and my partner and I can share login info for shared services like Netflix or our cable. It also suggests secure passwords and makes them easy to access.

Bitwarden: browser support, and Cross platforms.

I've used KeePass in the past and glad I switched to Bitwarden. Keepass is okeish as a good to go solution but has a lot of usability problems in the long run.

Also, there is another tool for sharing passwords between teams: passbolt.com (it's open source).
