Forem is thé open source project behind dev.to.
Ok, what’s the difference?
You can get the Forem app and have access to lots of different communities in one place. That is the only difference as DEV is built on Forem it will behave the same (but I believe they are planning to sunset the DEV iOS app so you will end up having to download Forem then I guess if you have an iPhone? 🤷♂️)

Forem is the project behind DEV, as someone here said. It's basically ALL you see on DEV: website, etc. You can create communities and link them with it.
