Welcome to my new DEV Community account! In the future, I will be posting here and on my own blog at https://vickieli.dev.
As some of you might know, I used to post technical articles on Medium (https://vickieli.medium.com/). Over the past few months, I've begun to move away from the platform as it no longer aligns with what I wanted to do with my blog.
I've always enjoyed writing as a way to share my learning with others and to digest what I am learning at the moment. Medium was a great platform for that at first -- it helped me grow an audience and connected me with many fellow engineers and hackers.
I've always put my articles behind Medium's paywall since Medium's algorithm heavily favors paywalled posts. By putting my articles behind the paywall, they were curated and sent to people of similar interests. And people who don't pay for Medium and are still interested in reading my articles can do so in incognito. However, due to Medium's recent policy changes, this flexibility is no longer a possibility.
I'll also gradually remove the paywall from most of my Medium articles. And as a reminder, almost all of my Medium articles can be accessed for free on https://vickieli.dev!
