๐ Hey there, amazing people of the internet! ๐
๐ Today marks the beginning of an exciting journey for me! ๐ I've committed to learning something new in coding every single day, focusing on Data Structures and Algorithms (DSA) and Development (Dev), and sharing the key highlights here. ๐ป
๐ They say that 1% improvements daily can lead to monumental growth in the long run. So, I've decided to put this theory to the test and aim for that 1% improvement every day! By doing so, I'll be 37 (or 38 for a leap year!) times better by this time next year. ๐๏ธ Giving myself a year to explore the power of discipline and consistency.
๐ฌ Sure, I've had some doubts and fears creeping in, wondering if I can keep up with this commitment every single day. But hey, is it really that hard to improve just by 1%? Let's find out together! Shall we?
๐ฎ To my future self, a year from now, on April 1, 2025 - I'm eager to ask you: How does it feel to be 38 times the person you were today? ๐ What incredible changes has this disciplined approach brought into your life? And what hurdles did you overcome along the way? Was it all worth it? ๐ค Do tell me in comments !
๐ Excited to witness the transformations this journey will bring! If this resonates with you, let's embark on this adventure together! ๐ช Let's strive to become the best versions of ourselves this year and beyond! ๐

By day 70, you'll theoretically be doing twice as much work daily to maintain that 1% improvement. By day 232, you'll be doing 10 times as much work.
Jon. IMO , its not about completing the work in workable hours. Its about efficiency and quality of work you produce day after day. If we have a skill or work which don't require quality , then we will surely land on to something which does need quality. Even improving our way of living counts.
Technically correct ๐ฏ. But the gist is just about consistency and discipline, about learning something new everyday to a bare minimum threshold of 1%. Targeting slow but consistent learning.
An attempt at constructive advice: 1% better is not only impossible to sustain, since it implies exponential growth, but itโs also difficult to measure. The sentiment is great, but I encourage you to define linear, concrete objectives to have a more clear, measurable path of learning.
For example, you might create a list of data structures and algorithms you want to learn, and set a goal of writing an article for one data structure or algorithm per week explaining in your own words how it works to verify you understand the concepts well enough to communicate. This is just an example, and not the only way to approach learning, but itโs concrete, time-boxed, and measurable, which leads to more consistent outcomes.
Thanks for the constructive suggestion. I appreciate your thoughts. From this challenge I just want to target consistency in me and being productive in learning DSA and Dev everyday such that it feels like I have gained 1% more knowledge, increased some neural connections in brain. I am not measuring it technically because as you said, it is difficult to measure that. But the aim is clear about doing this everyday for a year.
Hi! I have followed similar approach for like three months during placement season, and it really helps. The difference will be surprisingly great, best of luck
also do not feel disappointed if you miss any day, think about where you started from and resume from next day
Thanks for the kind words, Sakshi. Hope I can pull this off.
