On Nov 21st 2022, AWS opened its 30th AWS Region, Asia Pacific (Hyderabad) Region, with three Availability Zones

Quick Definition
Region
- Is a physical or a geographical location (Mumbai, Ohio, London, Paris and now Hyderabad) made up of two or more Availability Zones
- Each region is completely isolated from the other
- AWS Regions consists of multiple Availability Zones which are physically separated and isolated
- You can enable and control data replication across regions.
- Communication between regions happens via public internet.
Availability Zones
- Group of one or more discrete data centers
- Each AZ is provided with redundant power, networking, and connectivity , housed in separate facilities
- Availability Zones are connected with low latency, high throughput, and highly redundant network Availability Zones helps your production environments with highly available, fault tolerant, and scalable infrastructure than would be possible from a single data center
Enabling Hyderabad Region
Please note by default you may not see the new region enabled, you will have to enable the region from your account settings, Details below
Login to your AWS account
- Click on your Account id on top right corner
- Select " Account"
- Scroll Down to section " AWS Regions"
- Look for Asia Pacific (Hyderabad) region and select Enable
- Select Enable region on next screen
- Once enabled it will take few sec to get activated...
- You can click on refresh icon to see the changes
- after successfully enabling the region you should be able to see the Hyderabad under your region selection

Surely, I wanted to try few services and I launched an EC2 instance and created S3 bucket.

With this launch, AWS now spans 96 Availability Zones within 30 geographic Regions around the world, with three new Regions launched in 2022, including the AWS Middle East (UAE) Region, the AWS Europe (Zurich) Region, and the AWS Europe (Spain) Region. AWS also announced plans for 15 more Availability Zones and five more AWS Regions in Australia, Canada, Israel, New Zealand, and Thailand.
