Freelance jobs in 2024

Hi there! I'm new to the field of front-end development but already know some basic stuff like HTML and CSS. I keep learning every day and I think I am ready to do some simple tasks. Do you have any recommendations of beginner-friendly freelance platforms other than Upwork?
I would appreciate any advise for a beginner freelancer <3

Hi Sofya, I suggest searching "web development freelance sites" to hopefully find a suitable platform. When I did that, I came across all the platforms I know of.

To give you a brief overview of my experience, when I started my career as a web developer, I used to look for companies that either had a small website with just 4-5 pages or no website at all. Then, I would build a new website and offer it at a very reasonable price, as it helped me learn and improve my skills in many ways. Even if they refused the offer, I did not mind, as I gained real-world experience. Referrals can be powerful since they usually come with trust from the referrer.

If you are looking to start with web development and need templates for websites, you are welcome to check out my following post, which has a great selection and may be a great place to find inspiration.

When I shifted from using WordPress for building projects, I created a GitHub account and started using VS Code. This helped me improve my skills and helped me understand how and why the tech was used.

These insights are based on my personal experiences, and I am sure others may have taken a different path. However, I hope this helps. 🙂
