1: Use Your Network to Find a Job

I know not everyone has a strong network they can rely on. It’s okay.

But whoever you do know, you should talk to and utilize.

And you should make new connections/professional relationships to make your job search easier as well.

▫ Tell Everyone in Your Network

Tell people you’re job hunting.
Nobody can help you if you don’t tell people.

I once landed an interview at a top tech company in Pune by telling my LinkedIn connection which I think is not even close one, I was job hunting & rest is history.

2: Search for the Right Jobs

Use job search engines to find jobs by using keywords that match your interests & location where you want to work.

Narrowing your search criteria will save time, help you focus your job search, and give you highly relevant job listings to review..

3: Modern Job Search Skills

By “modern” I mean, of course, talking about the Internet & its various jobs search tools & aides.

When you're conducting a job search, you need to make it easy for employers to find you online.

There are several online job search engines.

▫ Twitter

Twitter is one the best platform to search Job these days. You will find a lot of job opportunities here on twitter.

  • Share your progress.
  • Make a new connection.
  • Make friends.

You will be amazed by the opportunity.

▫ Make a LinkedIn Account

This is a must.

Set up a LinkedIn account & tailor a well-worded outline of your career.

Recruiters are using this network for professionals frequently find new talent.

Employers can actually find your profile when searching for related keywords,

▫ Cold emails works, Trust me..

Send e-mails to complete strangers, people who have never heard of you & to whom you have no introduction.

It's possible to find a job this way, but it requires very large numbers of letters or e-mails.

▫ Advantages of your Cold E-mail.

  • Gaining early consideration for a position that has not yet been advertised.

  • Being part of a company’s upcoming expansion plans.

  • Creating a job that previously didn’t exist.

▫ My Advice for an Effective Cold E-mail

  • Sending out hundreds of cold emails & hoping something sticks can be a waste of time.

  • I recommend taking the time & effort to make them effective and target companies that you desire.

  • Develop a list of potential employers.

  • Address and send it to an actual person; not a department.

  • Companies have hiring managers or a recruiting department; find the individual’s name whom to address email.

  • Introduce yourself, share your desire to work for them, and explain how you can contribute to the company.

4: Employment Agencies

This method works best for people with resumes showing solid work experience.

Senior developers & Managers use this one more often as they have earlier contacts.

They can sometimes quickly get interviews by getting a strong resume to 20 -50 recruiters.

5: Asking for job leads.

Ask friends & people you know in the community.

It works 33% of the time.

By asking for job leads, you have an almost five times better chance of finding a job than if you had just sent out your resume.

6: Apply Directly to Targeted Companies.

▫ What to Put in Your Email/Application

Make sure to explain why they caught your eye in your cover letter or email.

Just Saying “I need a job” isn’t good enough.

You need to show a company why you want THEIR job.

Pro tip:

This is VERY important when preparing for job interviews too.

Always be able to explain what you’re looking for and why you applied for their job.

If not, you probably won’t get hired.

Also, make sure to “tailor” your resume for each job.

7: LinkedIn Job Search Method

This is one of my personal favourites.

It remains one of the best ways to find jobs online, even if you don’t have any network to rely on.

Get your resume in front of a lot of companies.

And the best place to do that is LinkedIn.

Some of the best ways I leverage in my career to find a job.... but where should you start?

I recommend you start by going through your network, writing down a list of who you know, contact them

Remember, you only need one job offer

You’re 1 good interview away from getting hired!
