I'm actually angry at Oracle. Sun was the last IT company with good products, driven by a unique vision and a team of very creative people. Oracle bought them to get MySQL out of their way - and they killed off everything else.
Larry Ellison is the only person in the world who deserves to be slapped in the face.
Oracle have not been as bad with Java as they have with their other acquisitions. Java development progressed at a much faster pace with Java 7 - 11 coming out and some hitherto unthinkable features like lambdas added.
That said, I don't trust Oracle with anything. This comment summarizes Oracle and Larry Ellison pretty well.

Yeah it is a good chance to change that but I guess we can improve the ecosystem by adopting to OpenJDK
