That is a dream for me in the future.

I moved here in Germany from my more country-side hometown to a big city.
Of course there are many advantages in the big city which I have enjoyed to the full.

But besides all the possibilities:

  • the rents are very high (I can't even think of a garden)
  • Stress (always hustle and bustle and never rest)

Unfortunately where I come from there is no big industry for developers (actually none in general), so in the next few years after I have gained more experience job-wise I'm trying to get a remote job and buy a house in the village where I grow up, which will cost only a fraction of what a big city house would cost.

Hi Torsten. Sure all you need is a good internet connection (which is kind of cheap in European countries). But beware that they are also drawbacks ;) Especially the loneliness compared to an office.

Yeah, the mindset is very important to be productive as a remote developer.
