I have heard over a pint from my buddies who work with commerce systems at the Enterprise IT world that there is now a trend to move out from Salesforce. Problem with Salesforce is that they try to be Swiss Army Knive but not expert on vertical market where vendors serve a specific audience and their set of needs. On top of their inabillity to deliver expertise on the vertical they also have hefty price. Moreover, because trying to be platform that solves any business challenge they are now behemoth playing catch-up on latest and greatest for Headless Commerce.
Now, take my comment with grain of salt as this is just what I have heard. I have not personally touched to Salesforce API for a while.
Thanks for the nice article about Salesforce. One thing I'd like to point out is the online Salesforce training website is named "Trailhead." The site is completely free for literally anyone to use. You do not need a prior connection to Salesforce or any organization that uses the Salesforce platform. This is the primary means of training anyone and everyone who uses, or wants to use, their platform. They have many different communities available for just about any location, gender or non-binary, and interest or experience categories. For example, they have a "Trailhead Military Program" that provides "Free Salesforce training for military and spouses. No commitment, no experience needed, no degree required. Leading-edge technology, 100% web-based training, guaranteed job interviews." Actually, that statement is true for everyone, not just folks with a military affiliation. If anyone is interested, they may check it out for themselves at . BTW, I am not a Salesforce employee, just a military veteran.
