You missed quite a few women and black devs with high following. Was this intentional, or more connected to your research process?

My question is about the research process because clearly many โinfluentialโ devs have been overlooked.
It is a plain request for clarification on the research process -- your explanation that the OP has "the right to share these influential devs" is unnecessary because I am not taking that right away. My expectation, as a tech writer, is that other authors will have a research process in place and that they will be transparent about it. If the research process consists of just enumerating their favorites, that's fine by me as long as they are transparent about it (which they are not).
Also fyi:
comes across as quite condescending -- please address other members of the community with respect, especially if you don't know them and have not engaged with their comments before. Given how rarely I engage in such conversations, the hyperbole you used there is less indicative of my ways of being than of how you feel about questions regarding diversity. Iโm still curious about your research process. How did you choose the folks? And, now that you brought it up, who you perceive as influencer? Is it the following base on Twitter?
Well, if youโre curious, I trust youโll google it! Try for instance: โwomen to follow in techโ, or โblack JS devs Twitterโ. Thatโs the best way to fulfill your curiosity โ you donโt need to ask other people to do this for you!
However, even though I typically donโt do other peopleโs homework, here are a few JS devs who are not white cishet men just to get you started:

I request you to consider that a list can be different based on the compilation of the authors and we're just creating a list that can be helpful to other developers. We have not considering black, white, women, or man.

To your last point -> yes, it is a list. It is a product of someoneโs research, a product that overlooked quite a few โinfluencersโ (regardless of the influencer definition here - a person who creates content, who creates branded content, a creator of a framework, or a dev with high following). It is completely legitimate to ask for a clarification on the research process and on the definition of the key term used here. Why such a vulgar, completely unwarranted, reaction?
I see that you must be feeling very strongly about this since this is only your second comment in two years on this platform.
It seems like youโre treating diversity and inclusion like a joke. I know that diversification of tech may feel threatening but itโs happening and it is very much not โHollywood bullshitโ. In fact, diverse teams produce better outcomes and cater to larger audience. Which part of this is โHollywood bullshitโ to you?
The title is "javascript influencers to follow". Nothing to do with skin color or gender. It's about influence and Javascript. There are at least 3 people (and yes, one of them is a woman) who have more influence on me and I would put them on my list. But I didn't complain, because I'm not an author and the list is a personal opinion of an author, who put his time into that list.
What you could have done is make a comment, where you say "Thx for the list, here is my suggestion of people..."
In that way, you are providing some more content to the article.
When you say "you must be feeling very strongly about this", you are saying what? That I'm racist? Also that I'm scared of women and diversification. I mean, it is a joke.
We have 50% women in a company. Many of them are developers. Why would I care about that? As long as there are decent human beings and doing their job, they can be green aliens...
All I see is a list of individual influencers, nothing to do with team diversity, so I don't get why are you sending me these articles.

And, again: a question about the research process and possible unconscious bias is not fighting, as much as itโs not complaining. It is a question on how decisions are made and as a tech writer myself, I know folks owe transparency on these issues to their readers.
Thanks for bringing this topic up. It's an important point to make and I think deserves it's own article here! Yes it may cause some drama in the comments section, but we all need to know how to talk about touchy subjects constructively. Another point to bring up possibly, is 'confirmation bias'. Some people, whether knowingly or not, have little to no understanding or experience with racism or diversity, thus affecting their opinions on it. This problem of 'confirmation bias' exists in tech as well. Facebook or Youtube for example, want to keep you on their platform consuming content, so their algorithms will find stuff that you want to click on and hide stuff that you might not want to click on. This can very often lead to people living in an echo chamber, not necessarily of their own making, but very much encouraged by the various systems around us. It is up to us to not fall for that and keep an open, understanding mind. ... the more you know :)
Not sure about the "influencer" moniker. These people because of their works, not because they are "influencing". To me, influencers would be if these people are frequently posting stuff on Twitter to "influence" their followers, and I don't think they do (at least some of them)

When I publish my favorite philosophers, I never think whether I should consider their age, gender, sex, orientation, kids, assets, bank balance, skin color, hair color, height, baldness, education, followers etc. I like them because I like their thought process.
