I haven't read this book yet, but it always comes up when I google good software engineering books to read. I'm not sure if I want to pull the trigger on amazon and buy it, however. Do you have any recommendations on newer software engineering literature?
I'm not familiar with anything as foundational as Mythical Man-Month, but if you want something that talks about issues in engineering infrastructure at a comparable (though fictionalized) scale, check out The Phoenix Project
