No one can predict the future when it comes to web development, but we can try to estimate. We have technologies that are still on demand, according to a compilation report from 2021. I compiled the technology as per the available opportunities on various sites like Glassdoor.
Note: If you want to learn a framework, kindly grasp the core language before jumping in its child.🙄🙄
Backend
- Django
Python💕 is the most popular programming language mainly because of machine learning, Artificial intelligence, and data science. Many people are working on AI projects which, in the end, they launch on a website. Therefore, it’s easier to integrate an AI project using Django because they are using python syntax.
There are other python frameworks like Flask, but most companies prefer Django for a large project. The Django developer needs to have backend knowledge. You must be familiar with how the server works, HTTP, and SSL. Also, further knowledge of large databases like Hadoop is required because most companies want to collect data from customers.
- Ruby on Rails
The server-side framework has dominated the market for several years. It is very easy, and it supports the MVC pattern. It helps developers to avoid the repetition of similar code. When working on a large project and you need to do it faster (Rapid Development Methodology), then Ruby on Rail can help. Learning this in 2022 is still very essential.
- Spring
Have you fallen in love with Java, then learn Spring framework. Java was created to be used to create a standalone business model. But in 2002, Rod Johnson wrote Spring to help the java project be hosted on the web. In addition, the framework is used on the server-side. Currently, some startups are using Spring to support cloud computing technology.
- Laravel
Despite many newbies hating PHP(I being one of them😂😂), but the recent version of PHP is clean. I have used it, though, on shallow parts. Laravel is still being used by millions of developers across the world. Many websites are built on PHP, including wordpress. Therefore, you need a fundamental understanding of the language before jumping to the Laravel framework. Laravel makes work easier for functions like authentication. It was created in 2011 and followed the VMS pattern.
We must understand PHP was specifically created for web development. Therefore, it still dominates the industry.
Front-end
- React.js
Almost 70% of the developers around the world use JavaScript as part of their projects. It has several frameworks like Vue, reacts, and angular. But according to the job posting, many companies are looking for react developers. The developer must have a deep understanding of state management and be familiar with hooks. This is for frontend developers to make sure the user interface is clean and attractive.
- Angular.js
This is the second JavaScript frontend framework that companies are looking for. Also, it’s very engaging when you are learning. It gives you more options to plan your work. 25.1% of the developers in 2021 December were using this technology. Therefore, it has no place to exit from the industry. Also, before react, angular dominated the market. So this means there are more projects developed using this technology. They need software developers to maintain their code. Learn this.
- Vue.js
This is the third JavaScript frontend framework that has been on the market for almost eight years now. It was developed by an ex-Google Software Engineer, Evan You. This frontend framework supports the Model-View-View-Model(MVVM) pattern on the client-side. It offers a great choice if you can’t work with react of angular. Many top companies prefer using Vue.js over another frontend framework in countries like China.
☺🤣Have been on Holiday for two weeks, I missed you guys, but am back with more information to share. Let's code like shit!
