Agreed that it was beautifully written, but when I looked up to see if Phil wrote it himself it looks like he had a ghost writer J.R. Moehringer. Not to take anything away from the book, I loved it but also got interested in checking our Moehringers other ghost written bios and found that he's also written Open - Andre Agassi which I also thought was a great read.
