Introduction
In the ever-evolving landscape of web development, the choice of a content management system (CMS) and its associated tools can significantly impact a website’s performance. Recently, we made a strategic decision to migrate our website from WordPress with Elementor to Next.js with Tailwind CSS. This move was prompted by the persistent issue of sluggish page load times experienced with the former setup, despite employing various plugins and optimizations.
Reasons for Migration
WordPress with Elementor and Performance Woes
WordPress, coupled with the popular Elementor page builder and several additional plugins, served as our initial platform. While these tools offer a user-friendly environment for creating and managing content, they came at a cost. The cumulative effect of various plugins and the complex structure of Elementor resulted in an alarming 10-second page load time for our website. This hindered user experience and adversely affected our SEO rankings.
