I have no basis or foundations in Python. The first phase of the course is expected to last for 8 weeks. Do an online course. I've heard that the "Automate the boring stuff with Python" in Udacity is quite good, as well as the book it stems from.

Not really, but look into coursera or edx for any Python course, there are plenty. Try a few until you find one that fits you well.
