Hi! I'm Erin, and I would really like to hear from people about these particular questions. While I have been trained academically, I am starting to build a portfolio of projects I am personally interested in to present to employers that will show my expertise. This portfolio will be my compensation for lack of workplace experience as an engineer. Also, I am a little allergic to failure in a career like programming, but I am aware I must conquer it to even start my portfolio... So, without further ado, your feedback is welcome not just to help me but others reading as well who may be in the same position.
Have you ever experienced a significant breakthrough after multiple failures?
What projects have you worked on that made you feel the most proud? How did you showcase them in your portfolio?
For those who have transitioned from academic learning to practical application, what advice would you give to someone just starting out?
How important do you think play and experimentation are in achieving professional success?
How do you balance creativity and functionality in your projects? Any examples?
What inspires you to start new projects, and how do you overcome initial hesitation?
If this is a popular post, I can make Q&A posts here and there with interesting questions that I will enjoy reading your answers for :)
