If you read the terms:

  • Users must make a good-faith effort to share content that is on-topic, of high-quality, and is not designed primarily for the purposes of promotion or creating backlinks.
  • Posts must contain substantial content β€” they may not merely reference an external link that contains the full post.
  • If a post contains affiliate links, that fact must be clearly disclosed. For instance, with language such as: β€œThis post includes affiliate links; I may receive compensation if you purchase products or services from the different links provided in this article.”

If you only want to promote your product like an Ad, you can do it using the listings option in DEV.

Thanks.

Reading your response, I would like to see this mentioned more on other articles on Dev.to, which actually seem to try to get people to other pages and more likely be just advertisements. Did you even have a look at this "eboard"?
This here just looks like a demonstration of a personal project, not like something linking to another article, product or whatever. At least it should have more details and a Github link, that would be great (@sripadhs , maybe you can edit it).

Every time I spot an article that looks like an ad, I write this type of comment to give the opportunity to the author of making a proper post or move it to listings. A title like "This is the future" and the wording chosen in the post is pretty much and Ad for this project. To make it look more like a post, the wording should change a little and the author should share stuff like the challenges of creating this webapp, the process to do it, the libraries used and so on
