I got to know about HackSquad 2023 few days back, and started exploring it and figured out that it's the time of the year when developers from all over the world come together to celebrate open source software.
In this blog, we'll dive into what HackSquad is all about and why you should be excited to join this open source adventure. It's just an awesome event. If you are new to opensource this event will boost you to contribute more in opensource projects, meet new peoples, join their teams and win woderful swags.
What is HackSquad?
Imagine HackSquad as a thrilling challenge where individuals who are passionate about open-source projects comes together for an entire month, provides valuable contributions to these projects through the submission changes, what we called as "pull requests." This effort is similar to another popular challenge you might know, Hacktoberfest.

Step 2: Click on Join Now or Sign-up with GitHub account.
Step 3: After that you have three options in My Squad Section
- Join a Squad : It allow you to join a squad which is already created.
- Create a new Squad : You can create your own squad and let people join your squad by allowing random people to join my team.
- Allow random people to join my team : you are randomly assigned to any squad by the authorities.
Step 4: Start contributing opensource projects, participates in different workshops and event, get bonus.
