331: How to Think like a Front-End Developer with Eric Meyer

Show Description

To kick off a new mini-series called "How to Think like a Front-End Developer", we're joined by Eric Meyer to get his thoughts on front-end web development in 2018 including throwing a set of website design mockups at him and seeing how he'd break them apart into HTML.

⭐️Native Script

[**NativeScript**](https://synd.co/2wqigtA) is how you build cross-platform, native iOS and Android apps without web views. Use Angular, Vue.js, TypeScript or modern JavaScript to get truly native UI and performance while reusing the skills and the code from your web projects.

Get 100% access to native APIs via JavaScript and reuse of packages from npm, CocoaPods, and Gradle. Open source and backed by [Progress](https://www.progress.com/).

Get started at [nativescript.org/shoptalkshow](https://synd.co/2wqigtA).

⭐️Netlify

Netlify makes web hosting eye-openingly easy. One way to do it is to just literally drag and drop a folder. Even better, connect a Git repo to a Netlify site and tell it what branch you want to watch, then any commits to that branch will automatically go live, even running your sites build as it does it. I heard one developer say "It's like someone actually designed hosting and deployment."
