Exhaustion. Stress. Burnout….I was done with my onsite 9-to-5 job. And honestly speaking, I never wanted this to happen because I love technology. But yet here I was… on the verge of hating every technology. So, I decided to take the leap and quit. I started working for myself in 2020. And here I am making six figures.
Was this journey hard? Yes.
But was it worth it? Hell yeah.
But hey, that’s not what I wanted to talk about today. I wanted to share the actions that have helped me perform well in my full-time remote job and 3 side businesses. Maybe you will also learn something new?
1. I Work Only During the Weekdays
I am a strong advocate of keeping a distinction between work and life. Because I knew that once you blur this line, your mental health will eventually be impacted. So, that’s why I always work only during the weekdays. Never in my life, had I let the work bleed into the weekend. Because I know that once you start working on weekends, sooner you’ll realize that it’s becoming your habit. But sometimes, there are urgent tasks. So, yeah for those tasks I wake up early to get them done.
2. I Work in Teams
Teamwork makes the dream work — cliche, I know. But that’s reality. When you work in teams, many will pour in their suggestions. They will tell you what will work and what won’t. And if you end up making some product, then it’s always seen that it stands the test of time.
3. I Brainstorm Solo
I consume a lot of content related to technology. That’s why I am always brimming with ideas. Yes, sometimes you should brainstorm together with others. But, is it important to brainstorm yourself as well? Absolutely. Because you see you have your own unique experience. You think differently. You react to situations differently. So, why not brainstorm alone and see what are some amazing ideas that you can come up with?
And that’s it. These are the simple yet effective actions that have helped me maintain a work-life balance and increase my earnings.
