Starting frontend web development

Hi all, hope you are all well. I am starting my journey into web development with a frontend web development bootcamp. I am doing some prework and i am getting through it but it feels as though there is so much to learn. What i am specifically interested but feel overwhelmed with is GitHub and Virtual studio code. Any advice or perhaps links to articles or youtubers or even courses online that can help breakdown understanding GitHub and Virtual studio code? I was able to create my first repository and able to establish a connection from my browser GitHub to my local desktop GitHub. It felt really good when achieved but at the same time i wondered how i even was able to get there and do it.
