Crafting the Narrative - A Personal Reflection

When I was approached by Quality Insights to share my transition from Product Manager to Software QA Engineer, I felt mixed feelings. I was quite hesitant, but on the other hand, I thought that sharing my story might inspire others not to be afraid of change. However, this transition would not have been fully understood without context, as it was a long journey, deeply layered, with both professional achievements and personal milestones shaping my path. In the end, the chance to narrate this transformation was too compelling and an opportunity I couldn't pass up.

Crafting the Narrative: A Personal Reflection

If I were going to write such an article, it couldn't simply be a recounting of my career; it would be an opportunity to explore retrospectively deep into my life's journey. From a young age, when I was truly fascinated with computers and questioned and challenged everything, simply without accepting the established status quo, to my international experiences that helped shape my character.

The process unearthed both lighthearted moments and serious professional and personal challenges. I wanted it to be intimate, a raw story free of any pretentious intentions. This is why I decided to tell it in the first person and crafted it as a personal letter to my fellow QA friends. ๐Ÿ™‚

Revisiting my life and journey brought back truly heartbreaking personal moments that were too painful to share, and I'm still not ready to tell. However, it also brought back exciting and fulfilling personal and professional experiences that have helped me keep going, no matter what. Although I decided to focus mainly on the positive experiences, I have to admit that the difficult ones contributed just as much as the good ones in shaping my journey.

And a pivotal moment in this transition was when I told my lovely partner that I wanted to change from a Product Manager to a QA Engineer... So I definitely had to make that the cliffhanger at the beginning of my story.

I invite you to explore the full narrative in Quality Insights, where you can examine the transitions that shaped my career. This journey celebrates not only professional achievements but also highlights personal resilience and growth through change.

โ€œI believe I have worked in nearly every role within the world of software and product development: analyst, developer, support, consultant, software engineer, tech lead, and product manager.
