“Something that helped me a lot was switching my mindset from being a consumer of information to becoming a producer” - This! I’ve made a conscious effort lately to go from being passive in what I do whether it’s reading or watching and do it in an intentional way trying to express it in my own words after. I found this helped me understand things better but also provide potentially valuable information for others. It’s also important though to take “down time”, it doesn’t have to be all or nothing.

absolutely. we don't have to cut down entirely, if we are disciplined enough it's also good to reduce a bit.
but I found, that at least at the beginning, i find it easier to quit entirely with something, rather than using moderately ( be it smoking, drinking, or using Facebook, I have to delete temptations from my world :-) )
