How to reset the password for Azure DevOps

In this blog, we will discuss about the how to reset the password for Azure DevOps using Microsoft account. We will see the step by step procedures such as Update your password, SSRS Setup, Check the password reset into your account.

Update your password

Open the browser and paste the following URL and press Enter
https://visualstudio.microsoft.com/

Click the sigin in button at the top right side of the page
The page will be redirect to the login page.
Now, you can enter the email address (work email id). Then click the Next button.

you can enter the password (Temporary password). Then click the Sign in button.

Note: Temporary password will be provided by Azure Administrator or System Administrator
After clicking the sign in button, “update your password” page as shown below will open.

You can enter the current password (temporary password), New password, confirm password and click the Sign in button

After Signing in the below page opens up and Click Next button

The “don’t lose access to your account” page will open as shown below.

Then click the Set it up now link button for Phone Authentication.

The Authentication phone window will open.

You can select your country and enter the mobile number. then click the text me button.

After clicking the text me button, you will receive the verification code to the mobile number configured. You can enter the verification code and click the verify button.

After clicking the verify button, you can see the phone authentication success message highlighted with tick mark. Then click the Set it up now link button for Email Authentication.

The Authentication email window will open. You can enter the email address (personal email id) and click the email me button.

After clicking the email me button, you will receive the verification code into your email inbox. You can enter the verification code and click the verify button.

After clicking the verify button, you can see the email authentication success message highlighted with tick mark. Then click the Finish button.

Check the password reset into your account

Open the browser and paste the following URL and press Enter
https://visualstudio.microsoft.com/

Click the sigin in button in the top right side of the page
The page will be redirect to the login page.
Now, you can enter the email address (work email id). Then click the Next button.

Now, you can enter the password (type password wrongly). Then click the Sign in button.

After clicking the sign in button, in case your password is incorrect. Then you will get this message “Your account or password is incorrect. If you can't remember your password, reset it now.”

Then, click the reset it now link button. After clicking the reset it now link button, the page will redirect to Microsoft Online Password Reset page as below.

You can enter the characters shown in the picture as below. Then click the Next button

After clicking the next button, the Microsoft Online Password reset window will redirect to verification step 1 window as shown below

You can choose Email my alternate email address or Send a text to my mobile phone number or call my mobile phone number. In my case I have selected Email my alternative email address option. Click the Email button. you will receive the verification code in your email. You can enter the verification code and click the Next button.
