** 1. WHAT IS AN ALGORITHM?**

WHAT ARE FLOWCHARTS?

SYMBOLS:

  • OVAL: Represents the start and end of the process.

  • RECTANGLE: Represents a process or action step.

  • DIAMOND: Represents a decision point, where the flow can branch based on conditions.

  • PARALLELOGRAM: Represents input or output operations.

  • ARROW: Shows the direction of the flow of control.

APPLICATIONS OF FLOWCHARTS:

Process Mapping: Flowcharts are widely used to map out processes in industries like manufacturing, software development, and business operations. They help visualize the sequence of steps, decisions, and outcomes, making it easier to understand and improve workflows.
