How to Customize GitHub Profile: Part 1

As a developer, especially for those who are looking for a tech role like myself, it's important to customize your GitHub profile because your GitHub profile is like your digital resume and makes you stand out from a bunch of other candidates. In this article, I'll walk you through the introduction section of my own GitHub profile customization.

My GitHub Profile

Create a New Repository Named Same as Your Username

To customize your GitHub profile, you need a repository whose name is the same as your GitHub username. Don't forget to make it public and add a README.md file when you create it.

Add Your Bio with Typing SVG

One of the best ways to catch someone's attention is with a dynamic introduction. I used a Typing SVG to animate the text in my header. This small touch can make a huge difference in making your profile more engaging.

Here's a guide on how to create yours by my favorite developer, Jonah Lawrence.

Add View Counter Button

After the header, I briefly describe myself and include a profile view counter button to showcase the number of visitors to my profile. This adds a layer of social proof and can intrigue visitors.

How to create yours using Pro Visit Counter

Personal Touches and Contact Information

Sharing personal details and contact information makes it easy for others to connect with you. I included a list of key points about myself, my learning goals, and where people can find me online.

Wrapping Up

This is just the beginning of creating an eye-catching GitHub profile. Stay tuned for the next part of this series, where I will dive into how to showcase your social media links and media and skill sections effectively.

In the meantime, feel free to ask any questions or share your GitHub profiles in the comments below. Let's connect and grow together🌱

Happy coding!💻
