Yes you are! Say it loud! No impostor syndrome allowed! : )

OH SHOOOT! we wrote this whole thing - after reading "Am I good at programming" - DOH.

Good question! What does that mean, right?

Some people want to go to hacking competitions - right out the gate!

Others are happy to string a few API's together and play with 3D modeling. Some people love to program as their hobby as well as their job - and other's just see it as a skill they use at work - but would rather by playing basketball.

What does it mean to be "good" - at anything?

If you aren't 'good' - then you must be "bad?" - or maybe you just don't have experience yet. That's ok too, right? So, if "bad" means you have no experience... then "good" must mean you have experience. However, many people have lots of experience. I sit - like, all day. But - I can tell right now... I'm sitting like a total slob. I'm not doing my body a favor. So, you have to have experience - AND _meet some goal _or standard.

What is your goal / or your job's / project's goal? Are you able to meet it? Are you able to get the job done - and up to a reasonable standard? If so, then you are probably 'good' at programming! You might even be 'great' or 'exceptional.' The is a great question.

The fun part, is that we can always keep an eye out for ways to be better. At least for us / it's like a fun game. The goals change - and we pivot and adjust and add skills. At that point, it's not really so much "programming" (at least in the web design field) - but "are you good at learning - and enjoying the problem solving." We really value that mind set. Someone can be the best programmer in the world - and not be able to help make the product better - or you can be a 10 year old kid - who is able to see the app from a new angle and completely redefine the UX by accident. It must all depend on the people and the context and the goal. I'm not sure if there's a test for that. But - hey, we can always make a challenge! : )

Also - we wrote a post once - but never created the graphics or made it public - but it's along these lines. It's called "We'll settle for 'good' in most cases."
