In my city, events is completely unorganized. Devs use all sorts of event sites, from FB/meetup/personal sites/etc. Every meetup I attended, someone goes, "Did you know about X? they're meeting in two weeks!"
Was hoping there's a open-source repo I can clone to build my own local dev events listing site that I can modify using JS or PHP, languages I'm familiar with?
There's one that I really like written in Ruby on Rails, but I'm having issues with setup, since I'm super new to Ruby, and I'm currently chatting with their dev group. http://calagator.org/
