A friendly warning to those who have opted to try the Big Sur beta and are using iTerm. I kept running into an issue where the terminal would freeze up and could only be recovered with a full system restart. It's seems I'm not alone and you can find details and a workaround here:
In short the workaround is:
Disabling Enable session restoration under Preferences > Advanced > Session
