First of all, I would get one of those. Not as the first but one of the first few thousands. (I don't want to end having my brain fried πŸ˜…). But I'm totally hyped for this kind of technology. I think that this can also be perfectly integrated with a augmented reality glasses (hololens now, Apple glass in the future?). Just thinking about the last movie I just bought and than the glasses will play them for me πŸ˜†. But there are some kind of things I don't want. e.g. there shouldn't be a direct internet connection. Everything should be routed via phone.. so I can controll what "app" will send what data... Data privacy is a small concern for me here. Because sometimes I have some stupid ideas. πŸ˜…πŸ˜…πŸ˜… I wouldn't want anybody to use these for advertisements 🀣

Well yes. Like I said, it should be routed over my phone that i can controll it. I think the firmware should be open sourced. Than it would be only small concerns.

A Google or Apple Phone? Nothing on a Google or Apple Phone is open source.

I wouldn't do that.

Android is open source (not everything, but enough). If you have deep access with root, you can do alot of stuff. Even without, you can block specific network requests.

You need to be an experienced developer to do so, but i think that controlling the data flow is possible if it is routed over a phone.
