Nevertheless, Rin Coded

I started/continued to code in 2019 because...

first of all, I have to say that at first I wasn’t interested in coding... until last year.. It’s not because it’s a guy’s job.. but I didn’t know or have any knowledge about it. BUT! This all changed until I met a Spanish teacher who’s (overly) passionate in AI. Since I had to choose a major to study in, I decided to try computer science..

IT WASN’T EASY FOR A BEGINNER LIKE ME. Everything is a new concept for someone who has aimed to study in architect.. Sure, I understand the concept I learnt in class. But my coding skill is still lacking compared to experienced programmers in my class (;-;)

BUT this won’t stop me from trying to code though.. I chose this path because I want to create something useful and hope to solve many problems. So yep, I’ll continue to try hard *sobbing*

I deserve credit for...

I wish I could tell myself that I was enough, that I did put in a lot of efforts. But it wasn’t enough, it’s not enough at this level. I cannot be satisfied until a project comes alive.

I know I’m harsh on myself; very. But I’m trying not to bully myself while I try to not be too lenient on myself. Understand the struggle?

I hope to see my school/work/developer/tech community...

OMG. I wish the community would be friendly to beginners.. Most experienced I met isolated themselves from us beginners simply because we don’t get you or your jokes (YET)!!! I know the Internet community is friendly and welcome, but the physical one is not.. Beginners who have interest in other areas also want to code, too! We just start later than you (;-;).

And even though I haven’t encountered a harsh gender problem, yet. I still feel like we are lacking a variety in genders!! Please, don’t enforce the stereotype that only men code!

Final thought

I’m glad to see this campaign and I’m relieved that I can finally let my frustration out. :D I hope someday the dev community will be really friendly to everyone equally!
