My opinion, white boarding is a skillset. Like the ability to speak to a crowd. Some can do it, some cant. I would always argue for white boarding to bring clarity to an issue.
It usually flushes out a problem between differing opinions. But for an interview, just throw glass on the floor and ask me to dance. I need to know you better before I can play charades with any team.
