This is great thank you. I have been working on the Umbraco project and improving accessibility in the back office and learned the following:

  1. It's OK and important to take breaks from contributing to OSS
  2. A good project recognises that there is a life outside of it
  3. Almost everyone outside of Umbraco HQ on the project has a day job so communication is slow
  4. Have a tool outside of GitHub such as slack for communication
  5. Inclusive, friendly language is important
  6. Remember not everyone speaks English as their first language
  7. Each person brings to the project their own culture and experience
