Did you know that Luke Skywalker only uttered the iconic May the Force be with you! phrase once? It was offscreen, as Lando and Chewbacca headed out to find Boba Fett and rescue Han Solo. In any case, it’s that time of year again and we’d love to spend Star Wars Day with some of our favorite people—you!
Our first annual May the Source Be With You virtual hackathon will happen on May 4th and focuses on improvement to our developer tooling ecosystem. Do you have a pet peeve about the PDK,
puppet-lint, the Puppet VSCode extension, or any other tool you use when building Puppet code? Join forces with us to jump in and help defeat those pain points, while growing your own software development skills deeper than writing Puppet code.
We’ll have engineers on hand to guide you through the process, help you understand the codebase, and answer any questions you might have. If you want to help out, but don’t have something in mind already, we’ll have some great beginner friendly tickets to get started on.
A little birdie says that you might even get a bit of exclusive swag for participating, too!
Our long-term goal for this event is to level up more people to help collaborate on these tools. The people who best know the pain points are those who use them every day, and that might be you. We would like to give you the expertise to help us solve these pain points and make building Puppet modules a far more pleasant experience!
Watch this space for more information, and we really hope to see you there.
