“Welcome to the party, Pal.”

Here we are at the end of, yet another, eventful week. Hope all of you have some nice plans for the weekend. If not, you can always do what I do, watch a nice classic movie. Anyways, let’s get to the post before you all start googling 90s/00s movies.

“The beacons are lit!…”

We start this weeks post by announcing that we have released a new version of our VSCode plugin, v1.4.2. Keep an eye out for any updates on that end as we are working on some much needed love for that tool.

“…Gondor calls for aid.”

Another release many of you might have noticed was the re-release of our Puppet gems: rspec-puppet and puppet-lint. These can now be found in Rubygems by puppetlabs-rspec-puppet and puppetlabs-puppet-lint. However, be careful if you install these new gems alongside the old ones, as that can cause some compatibility issues. Watch out for warnings like “already initialized constant” as those can be a giveaway of this issue. We are actively working to resolve it.

“He’s beginning to believe!”

On the other end, we have been able to identify and address one of them pesky bugs in pdk-runtime in our puppet-runtime repo. Hopefully, this will enable us to continue our maintenance work on PDK uninterrupted. Fingers crossed!

And that’s all for this week, folks. Did you recognise all the quotes? If not, you might have some catching up to do! Hasta la vista, baby!
