I agree with almost 90% of what you said. But one little thing bothers me here. Why we are framing the people who codes in his spare time as someone with no social life or he is not prioritising his family and other hobbies or even workaholic to an extent
If someone codes in his spare time, it's just because he loves it. It doesn't mean that he doesn't love his family or does not spend time with his family.
I think the definition of spare time differs here. My definition of spare time is when I have nothing else to do. After a meal, or when my partner is tired and sleepy, after an evening movie, or when partner is busy with his family video call etc.
Yes, sure, I don't mean to call people who love to code as someone with no social life, not at all. Sorry If I wasn't clear enough about that.
As I said, it's great when coding is someone's hobby. Especially when you can find a right balance between hobbies and family/friends. There is absolutely nothing wrong here.
But sometimes when you have to do something what you probably don't love so much - you would have to sacrifice something else (like spending time with family/friends). That is my point here.
For further actions, you may consider blocking this person and/or reporting abuse
We're a place where coders share, stay up-to-date and grow their careers.
