Why Creating is not Executing

You know how the saying goes...

Ideas are cheap.
Execution is everything.

But more often then not, when creating something new the least thing we need is executing a plan.

Executing a plan functions greatly in a controlled environment.

  • You can ran a marathon,
  • You can write one post like this one,
  • You can complete a job task.

But when you are creating something new executing your plan looks much more like doing performance art, or playing jazz.

You surely have in mind a few ideas and you start validating them.

But it is not until very far in the process that you start executing a plan.

For the most at the beginning, the plan IS the execution.

And the execution IS the plan.

As the Spanish poet once wrote:

“Caminante, no hay camino, se hace camino al andar”

Which can be translated as “Traveller, there is no road; you make your path as you walk”.

Let's keep walking!
