I'll be starting a part-time bootcamp next Monday which focuses on full stack development. Ideally I'd like to work as either a full-time employee to start or have some other work to help supplement my current job as a translator and interpreter.
When I was an undergraduate, I started off as a computer science major, but ended up switching majors due to having trouble with calculus. Even though I've been happy with my current career, I always felt programming was something that I could do well, and after speaking with several friends who work as programmers and getting encouragement from them, I finally decided to take the plunge.
So far so good. The languages have certainly changed (C++ was a major focus when I was an undergraduate, and JavaScript seems to have a much more prominent place) and the delivery infrastructure has involved considerably (Git seems like such a powerful tool!) but I am looking forward to any challenges that may come. I'll try to post on a weekly basis to chronicle my progress.
