For obvious reasons, I was forced to start working from home. I was not prepared for this. I did not have any home office area set up, my desk in our living room was baby proofed (removed all electronics). At the beginning of the work from home, I just used my laptop on a sofa. It was a nice change for a bit. After a while, my back started to hurt. We decided that I will use a table in our kitchen. We were not using that table anyway, the kitchen was the only place where I can sit through the meeting without a bunch of background noise.
My laptop in the kitchen was replaced with a laptop on the stand, then the mouse was added, then keyboard, monitor. You know I build an office in our kitchen.
My goal was to be minimalistic as it's still a kitchen.
I chose a USB-C monitor. It acts as a docking station as well, it will change my laptop and extend it with USB ports.
I loved my wireless Logitech mouse so I added a minimalistic Logitech wireless keyboard so those can be moved without cable management.
I am pretty happy with this setup and I recommend that everybody goes for something like this. My productivity went up having the extra screen, proper mouse, and keyboard. It does not have to take a whole lot of space.
List of stuff:
- monitor Dell P2419HC
- mouse Logitech M705
- keyboard Logitech K230
