I also appreciated the simplicity of minio when compared to ceph which is another alternative ... until minio started to loose my data due to a bug :

Actually, I work with both - MinIO is great for certain use cases, but for production workloads like at CloudStation, we rely on Ceph to handle all our stateful workload volumes.
