I recently completed my summer internship as a Software Engineer intern at Microsoft for the summer of 2022.I must say it has been a journey of self discovery and confidence-building.
I remember back in January 2022 when I decided to apply.
After viewing the Ad, I immediately proceeded to the Microsoft careers portal to submit my application.
January 2022
I had submitted my application within 24 hours of viewing the job on LinkedIn and so the wait begun.
February 19th 2022
About 8 weeks later, I received a rejection email. I was not that disappointed(I mean come on, this is Microsoft) .
February 21st 2022
Received an email telling me to disregard the rejection.
March 7th 2022
Was invited to take an online coding test and participate in a first round interview phone screen. All this was to happen in the next 4 weeks.
March 24th 2022
Did the codility online coding test.
March 25th 2022
Did the first round phone screen interview.
April 22nd 2022
Was invited to the final round of interviews.
May 11th 2022
Did all four final round interviews.
May 18th 2022
Received a Congratulatory email offering me a position as a SWE intern.
July 4th 2022
First day as a SWE intern at Microsoft.
That sums up my journey to Microsoft.
My overall experience has been amazing and I can't wait to share more of my experiences and knowledge as a Software Engineer.
