MY JOURNEY INTO TECH

Hi guys, my name is Okwoli Godwin, a student of codelab, my journey into
tech hasn’t been all rosy but it has been worth every bit of it. I hope this
story of mine inspires someone not to give up in pursuit of passion.
Codelab is a tech community presently located in Ajegunle Lagos. Codelab
vision is to help youths in Ajegunle redeem their time and their mission is to
build over one thousand developers in Ajegunle wirh the space of five years.
Codelab teaches youth to become a fullstack web developer.
I gained admission into codelab in July 2021 immediately after my senior
secondary school, however, due to many factors including lack of
understanding an unseriousness I was not consistent and it resulted me
being dropped out of the program.
I officially picked it up again a month after I was dropped from codelab and
started learning on my own. My learning wasn’t structured and I was
trapped in tutorial hell, I was learning concepts without actually putting it
into practice. It seemed as though I had to learn everything before I could
build a meaningful project, how wrong I was.
In July 2022 I gained admission back into codelab after going through some
interview process. I set a one year goal for myself to be a fullstack web
developer and also promise myself to be more serious and consistent to
learnings.
I am excited with how good I am now, iv’e learnt alot on Html, CSS,
JAVASCRIPT, Project Management, Transformational Leadership and Design
Thinking, transmitting my lines of codes into profitable ideas and of course
have massive fun while learning.
This is just the beginning of greater things to come because I haven’t even
scratched the surface and I am so pumped for the adventure ahead. I know I
am going to make beautiful memories in the coming months, meet awesome people, build products I have never thought possible, and be the
best version of me.
So to those still pursuing their dreams, never give up!!!, your dreams are
valid, it might look bleak but trust me the present challenges you are going
through now is only preparing you for the future ahead.
Here is to one year of awesomeness ahead, thanks to Codelabbyskillhub for
this amazing opportunity, I promise to give it all I have got. The journey of
one year begins with an article!!
