STATISTICS FOR DATA ANALYTICS - 20
F Distribution.
When to use :- when we have to check if the means of two groups are significantly different from each other.
In probability theory and statistics , the F - distribution or F-ratio, also known as Snedecorβs F distribution or the Fisher-Snedecor distribution ( after Ronald Fisher and George W.Snedecor ) is a continuous probability distribution that arises frequently as the null distribution of a test statistic, mostly notably i the analysis of variance (ANOVA ) and other F-test.
Comparing the variance or Mean between two groups.
F distribution graphs are mostly Right skewed.
F - test ( Variance Ratio test )
VARIANCE = SQUARE OF STANDARD DEVIATION.
AFTER GETTING SAMPLE VARIANCE =
Step 2 :-
F VALUE = SAMPLE VARIANCE 1 / SAMPLE VARIANCE 2
STEP 3 :-
Decision Rule.
Degree of freedom for both the sample
Alpha value
