EXCEL - 15

INTRODUCTION TO VISUALISATION IN EXCEL & GOOGLE SHEETS. - 1

Concepts of visualisation :-
It is a way to show data to those who are unable to handle raw data info like people related to management. The more ways you can express your data the more you will be getting paid in your job.

Creating a chart is not just inserting a chart, it is a process which helps anyone to show the information in a story form without showing the data in real form.

Steps βž–
Obtaining and understanding your data
Prepare data
Identify your audience. ( JR Management , MID Management , HIGH Management ) as we go higher we have to show less micro data visuals.
TRY to ask what they want.
Create the right kind of Visualisation.

First select the whole data and get recommendations, which can also help you to decide the chart.

There are a lot of chart elements which can make data visual more interactive.

Axes :- 2d, 3d
Title :- Axes Title
Chart title
Data label :- centre
Inside, etc

Mostly we don’t use data labels.

Error bars can only be added to
Bar chart
Column chart
Line chart
2d area
x-y scatter chart
Bubble chart

Gridlines

Trend line data :- it is the most common thing that a management wants in their visuals to understand the trend of the product.

Move chart :- it helps to move the chart in a new sheet which can help us to make a report ( not a dashboard ).

FORMATTING CHART :-

It is the key whenever we create a chart we do it.

Different formatting types in formatting TAB.

We can access everything in a chart with this tab without any hindrance with the chart wrong click.
Or
Use format chart area :- chart option which can also help us to access everything.

Try to explore with different options in charts to explore with different themes and create your own custom theme.

Bar and column charts :-

When to use it :- Use when a data is large in quantity. According to data, try both charts because everything is the same except the orientation.

Function in charts which we use

Index
Match
Rank.EQ - It helps us to find the rank according to the list of the numbers. ( it give same rank if you have same marks or value )

Line charts :-

In this also we can create a trend line. And forecast for the future.

Histogram chart :-

Histogram helps us to divide values into groups which we can use bins ( no.of group ) , it automatically creates bins or we can customise them. ( it will divide the range and create a group by) with the other value and create a column chart. Which we call histogram.

Area chart

It helps us to know how much data it covers.

Pie chart
It is also called a circle chart. It takes a single numerical value for a single category value to show the values.

Donut chart is also the same.

These functions are fundamental for various tasks in Excel, including text manipulation, logical operations, conditional formatting, and data analysis.
