This It's a great tutorial for fast productivity.

I learned about git on the hard way and was difficult practicing alone. I'm the only one who use it on my work.

I'll share this with my coworkers and friends.

Hey Gregor,

Awesome, thank you, I'm really glad this was helpful to you! I hope your coworkers and friends find value in it as well.

Btw, I also wrote a bit more advanced tutorial about branching in Git, which you may like to check out: dev.to/hitman666/git-branching-don....

Best wishes,

This is excellent. I'll deffo be revisiting this multiple times before the start of my juniour developer role in a month :D Whilst I do know about Git I definitely need to learn more than just adding files, commiting and then pushing.

This is by far the best introduction to Git and Github, that I have come across. Thanks alot for this well written article. I will make sure to share it with my team (that is not using Git).

Thanks for this quick intro! Love it. Does it make sense to use Git if I’m working alone?

You're welcome.

Yes, totally! Why? Well, I still remember those days that for some reason or the other, I would loose a backup copy of the folder that had the 'newest' code. Folders like project_backup_12102005 :)
